Under the direction of writer Julio G. Garzón, Iris Monica took part in a lively, interesting and (turns out) many times controversial (in a nice way) conversation about Poetry’s inter-disciplinary relationship with Science. [Can Poetry and Science be together? Is poetry that is nourished/inspired by science necessarily in need of contextualization? Can it ever be universal? Can it stand on its own? Do poems need to be universal? Why? Who determines what “universal” is? Are explanations always in detriment of poetry, or can the mind of the Poet —her experience, her process— enrich the final poem? What is the value of talking about the creative process?]
